Funding your New Account

To open a Global-American Investments pattern day trading account, a federal regulation requires new accounts be funded with a minimum of $25,000 cash or net equity in freely transferable securities or a combination of both. To find out more about "pattern day trading" click here.

To open a Global-American Investments non-day trading account (retail accounts), a minimum deposit of $5,000 cash or net equity in freely transferable securities or a combination of both is required.

For faster processing of your account application, we recommend that you wire funds to our clearing firm after you have been issued an account number. Your account must be funded before you can place a trade. If you have any questions about the status of your new account please email us at info@ga-securities.com or call by phone at (909) 396-8899 from Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:30a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Coast Time. It is important that all cash or stock deposits be sent directly to our clearing firm - Penson Financial Services Inc. and not to Global-American Investments.

Acceptable deposits:

• Wired Funds from banks and other financial institutions. To speed your application we recommend that you use a wire transfer.

• Brokerage checks made payable to Penson Financial Services Inc. 1700 Pacific Ave. Suite 1400, Dallas, TX 75201-7322.  Please also write your Account Name on your check.

• IRA deposits must include your name, 8-digit account number and the tax year for which the contribution is being made. If no tax year is specified, it will be assumed to be the current year.

• Personal checks made payable to Penson Financial Services Inc. 1700 Pacific Ave. Suite 1400, Dallas, TX 75201-7322. Please also write your Account Name on your check. No 3rd party checks will be accepted.

• Securities - Endorse your securities by appointing Penson Financial Services as attorney and signing your name exactly as it appears on the face of the certificate(s).

Wired Funds:

When wiring funds to your Global-American Investments account from an outside institution, you must give the following instructions to the institution where the wired funds are coming from. Neither Penson Financial Services nor Global-American Investments, Inc. can initiate a wire transfer to Penson Financial Services Inc.

Please note that Penson Financial Services cannot knowingly accept transfers from third parties. As a result, funds should be wired from an account under the same name as your Global-American Investments receiving account.

Wired Funds instructions:

Once Global-American Investments has approved your account you will be emailed a trading account number. After you receive your account number you can wire funds into your new Global American Investment account by giving the following instructions to your bank:
